Mongolian Khan named NZ Horse of the Year for the second consecutive year

Grenville bred Caulfield Cup winner Mongolian Khan has secured his second successive NZ Horse of the Year Award at the New Zealand Thoroughbred Horse of the Year Awards held at Auckland’s Langham Hotel last month.

Owned by the Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Club and trained by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, the talented stallion scored a brilliant win against an international field in the Group I MRC Caulfield Cup last October.

That triumph followed on from his memorable three year-old season that produced brilliant wins in both the Group I ATC Australian Derby and New Zealand Derby.

Mongolian Khan will now head to stud at Windsor Park Stud where he will have an excellent book of mares including a number of well credentialled mares which have been brought by the Mongolian Khan Syndicate to visit Mongolian Khan this season.
